Stones

There is a world going on beneath our feet.

Stones are the library of the world––absorbing, storing, remembering the knowledge of the past, and passing it on into the present. And crystals, conduits of light, vibration, and information, are bright, reflective, and translucent messengers––

the nervous system of a planet.

Imagine passing away millennia hidden in the darkness of the ground, then upturned one day, caught between the sun and moon and the vastness of the sky.

What do stones remember? What stories do crystals tell?

Some stones are formed from the sediments of waterways and oceans. Others through the geologic forces of heat and pressure, and shaped by water and wind over time. Volcanic action and plate tectonics are high-energy forms of transformation. Some are changed into stunning gems of timeless beauty.

Occasionally, there are those that occur here that are from elsewhere, arriving inThe Book of Stones the form of meteors.

Stones can assist us in our quest for healing, for alignment to our purpose, facilitating and expediting our growth toward our highest self. They have their own vibrations, unique to their composition, and can act as focusers of thought and will and dreams. When we allow ourselves to resonate with stones, we are channeling our energy into focus with their aid. As we are rediscovering today, crystals and stones played an important part in many earlier cultures. We still have much to learn yet about their gifts.

Here is the much anticipated book on the spiritual gifts of stones by Robert Simmons and Naisha Ahsian. It features images, properties, and origins, as well as personal insights into the energetic signatures of specific stones, and their applications as allies and aides in our lives. The introduction offers insight into how to work with stones, and observations on recent discoveries. In full color, and beautifully done.

I have visited the warehouse of Heaven and Earth in Montpelier and came home with many treasures, and a few miracles along the way. That day, on the drive home, there was a spectacular sun dog display at sunset over the mountains. And that night, an equally wonderful moon dog affirmation that brightened the mountains after nightfall.

––Rare and beautiful blessings, indeed.
